10. Asa final check, confirm that the LEVEL
and BIAS indications are about 0 dB,
with a + 2 dB allowable margin. To make
this check, simply press the TEST TONE
button again and see what readings you
get for each. Repeat steps 2 — 9 again
if further adjustments seem necessary.
11. At this point the calibration adjustments
are completed. Press the 44 button,
since the STOP MEMORY function is
automatically engaged in the calibration,
the tape will be rewound to the calibra-
tion beginning point. Recording in the
BLOCK REPEAT Operation (Refer to
Fig. 5)
There are times when you want to hear the
same part of a tape over and over again — it
could be you are learning a new song or
practicing with language tapes. Here, the
BLOCK REPEAT feature comes in handy.
Press START MEMO at the start of the
"block" you want to repeat, and press
STOP MEMO at the end of the block. Then
press the <4 or >» button depending on
the start/stop memory positions (see Exam-
ple chart) to reach the START MEMO posi-

Timer-Controlled Recording Operation
1. Connect your deck and stereo system to
a commercially available clock timer as

recording, but leave the deck in the stop
