3.2 Überwachung der Generatorspannung
ACHTUNG! Vor der Installation bzw. Bearbeitung unbedingt
das Kapitel Sicherheitshinweise in diesem Handbuch le-
sen.
Der Spannungsbereich der Elektrizitätswerke liegt normalerweise zwi-
schen 200 und 240V (100 - 130V in der 60Hz Version). In manchen
Ländern sind sogar erheblich größere Spannungsabweichungen als
"normal" zu bezeichnen. Die PANDA Generatoren sind so abgestimmt,
daß Sie bei normaler Belastung diese Standardwerte einhalten.
Bei hoher Belastung oder Überlast kann es aber vorkommen, daß die
Spannung auf 190V (95V in der 60Hz Version) und teilweise auch noch
tiefer absinkt. Das kann u.U. für bestimmte Geräte kritisch werden (z.B.
für Elektromotoren, Kühlkompressoren und evtl. auch für elektronische
Geräte). Es muß daher darauf geachtet werden, daß die Spannung für
solche Verbraucher ausreichend ist. Dies kann durch ein Voltmeter
überwacht werden.
Das Voltmeter sollte immer hinter dem Umschalter Generator/Land-
strom installiert werden, so daß diese Anzeige für jede der in Frage
kommenden Spannungsquellen die Spannung anzeigt. Für den Genera-
tor selbst ist deshalb kein eigenes Voltmeter vorgesehen.
Wenn zusätzliche Verbraucher eingeschaltet werden, muß am Voltme-
ter dann die Spannung jeweils kontrolliert werden. Empfindliche
Geräte müssen ausgeschaltet werden, solange sich die Span-
nung unter dem kritischen Wert befindet.
Unter bestimmten Umständen ist auch Überspannung durch den Gene-
rator möglich. Dies tritt insbesondere dann auf, wenn die Drehzahl des
Generators verändert (erhöht) wird. Ein Verändern der Drehzahl darf
deshalb nur mit Hilfe eines Drehzahlmessers bzw. Voltmeters vorge-
nommen werden.
Wenn empfindliche bzw. wertvolle Geräte verwendet werden, die vor
diesem Risiko geschützt werden sollen, muß ein automatischer Über-
spannungsschutz eingerichtet werden. (Spannungswächter mit Ab-
schaltung).

Generator Voltage Fluctuations and Monitoring

ATTENTION! Before working (installation) on the System
read the section Safety Instructions in this Manual.
Standard electricity generated by normal power plants is supplied in the
range from 200 to 240V (50Hz) in Europe and from 100 to 130V (60Hz)
in North America. In certain foreign countries, the range of voltages can
be even higher. PANDA generators have been designed such that, under
normal electrical loading, the voltage will remain well within the accept-
able limits.
During periods of high electric loading, the voltage may drop to 190V/
50Hz (or 95V/60Hz) or even lower. Such voltage drops can potentially
cause damage to certain electrical devices such as electric motors,
compressors and electronic equipment. In order to ensure that sufficient
voltage is available and to avoid the risk of damage to sensitive electrical
devices, the supply voltage should be monitored with a voltmeter.
The voltmeter should be installed "downline" from the power source
selector switch so that the correct supply voltage is shown regardless
of the source (i.e. whether from a standard AC plug, or from the genset).
If the voltmeter is installed as such (i.e. common to both possible
sources), only one voltmeter is required.
The voltmeter current must be respectively checked If additional
consumers are switched on. As long as the voltage remains below
the critical level the sensitive devices must be switched off
during this period
Overvoltage can be caused by the generator under certain circum-
stances. This occurs, especially if the speed of the motor changes
(increases in speed). Adjustment to the normal motor speed (rpm) should
only be done with the use of a rev counter and/or a voltmeter.
A voltage regulated circuit breaker should be installed in the electrical
system in order to avoid damage, if sensitive or valuable equipment is
used. (voltage control with circuit breaker).
