6. Checking/ installation of
the ACC sensor
Risk of crushing- danger from an unlatched
ACC 200 or falling mirror unit!
With an improper attachment of °. ACC 200 or
on a height adjustment of the mirror, a risk of
crushing exists by unlatching.

Place ACC 200 on a level surface.
¶

the mirror.

The setting of the ACC sensor must be done very
carefully since even the most minute deviations of
the sensor setting to the drive axis disturb the whole
system!
!
During the installation, the vehicle cannot be moved.
A small vibration itself of the vehicle or the instal-
lation equipment leads to a false installation of the
ACC sensor.
6.1 Determination of the drive axis
R
For the testing and installation of the ACC sensor,
the mirror must be set horizontally and vertically to
the drive axis of the vehicle to be tested.
R
Normally the to be tested vehicle does not stand
exactly square to the installation equipment and the
measuring location can show irregularities and/or a
slope.
R
With the installation equipment, this deviation is
determined. This procedure must be done for the
left and right vehicle sides.
R
The adjustment of the mirror to the orientation to
the drive axis can be calculated using the deter-
mined values from both vehicle sides only be means
of a diagnosis system.
6.2

Preparation

The following measures must be undertaken before the
checking and installation of the ACC sensor:
1. Check the tire pressure and if necessary correct.
2. Check whether the tank is filled to 50%.
3. Drive the vehicle to be tested to the measuring loca-
tion.

The vehicle must be as square as possible to the rail.

Is the deviation of the drive axis to the rail > 5°, is
the basic orientation not possible (with the installa-
tion equipment).
4. Check whether the ACC sensor has the necessary
distance to the mirror (120 cm ±5 cm).

6.3 Align the installation equipment to
the left
1. Pull the clamping lever on the hand grip.
 The clamp unit is opened.
2. Set the installation equipment with then opened
clamp unit on the rail.
3. Again release the clamping lever.
 The installation equipment is locked onto the rail.
4. Check whether the installation equipment is sitting
correctly on the rail.
5. Check whether the mirror is set to the middle position
of the latching equipment (fig. 17, item1)!

6. If required undertake a height adjustment of the
mirror (see sec. 6.6).
7. Turn the knurled screw (fig. 17, item2 ) until the
spirit level (fig. 12, item 4) finds itself exactly in the
middle!

With every new positioning of the installation equip-
ment, the orientation of the installation equipment
must be readjusted. Thus the unevenness in the area
of the rails will be compensated for.
8. Fix the quick action clamp to the left rear wheel.
9. Place the axis of the wheel laser in the location of the
quick release clamp.
10. Make the wheel laser as much as possible horizontal
and fix with the fixing screw to the quick action clamp.

11. Press the quick action clamp towards the bottom, in
order to optimize the give in the location.
