Repairing minor malfunctions yourself

Before you call customer service:

Check whether you can repair the malfunctions yourself by using the following information.
You must assume the costs for consultation by customer service even during the warranty period!

Food is too cold.

The appliance has an unpleasant

Appliance or ice maker produces
unknown noises or the noises
seem to be too loud.

Possible cause
Appliance is in the Defrost Mode.
Freezer compartment temperature is
set too high.
Fresh Cool compartment inserted
improperly.
Mains plug is pulled out.
Appliance was switched off at the
control panel.
Circuit breaker has tripped.
Power failure.
Malfunction in the appliance.
Temperature is set too low.
Door can not be closed properly.
Temperature is set too high.
Ventilation screen is blocked.
Doors were frequently opened or
were opened for a long time.
Fresh food was stored.
Food that has a strong odour was
stored.
Interior is dirty.
Normal operating conditions.
Remedial action
Normal operating condition. Wait
40 minutes; check whether
compressor restarts.
Set freezer compartment temperature
lower.
Insert Fresh Cool compartment
correctly.
Insert mains plug.
Press fridge or freezer compartment
button Ô.
Replace or switch on circuit breaker.
Wait until the power is again restored.
If necessary, inform installer or the
electrical supply company.
Disconnect mains plug or switch off
circuit breaker. Call customer service.
Set temperature higher.
Align appliance using a spirit level.

Rearrange food that obstructs closing
the door. Check position of the
drawers and install correctly if
necessary.
Check door seals and door cross
beam; if necessary, clean or seat
properly.
Set temperature lower.
Remove food in front of the ventilation
screen.
Wait until the temperature inside the
appliance has dropped.
Fresh food must first reach the proper
storage temperature.
Wrap or enclose in air tight
containers.
Clean interior.
