Eliminating minor faults yourself

Before you call customer service:
Please check whether you can eliminate the fault yourself based on the following information.
Customer service will charge you for advice – even if the appliance is still under guarantee!
Fault
Temperature differs greatly
from the set value.
The temperature
in the refrigerator
compartment is too cold.
The refrigerating unit
is switching on more
frequently and for longer.
There is no cooling output
from the appliance.
The lighting does not work.
The display does not
illuminate.
There is a thick layer of frost
in the freezer compartment.
Temperature display indicates
"E..".
The light does not function.
The "cool-fresh" compartment
is too warm or too cold.
Appliance is not cooling,
temperature display and light
are lit.

Possible cause
Freezer compartment door is open.
Temperature has been set too low.
The "fast" function is switched on.
Appliance opened frequently.
The ventilation openings have been
covered.
Appliance is switched off.
Power failure
The fuse has been switched off.
The mains plug has not been inserted
properly.
Electronics have detected a fault.
The LED light is defective.
Appliance was open too long.
Light is switched off after approx. 10
min.
The standard setting has been set too
high or too low (e.g. if there is frost
in the "cool-fresh" compartment).
Showroom mode is switched on.
Remedial action
In some cases it is adequate to switch off
the appliance for 5 minutes.
If the temperature is too high wait a few hours
and check whether the temperature has approached
the set value.
If the temperature is too low check the temperature
again the next day.
Close the freezer compartment door. The freezer
compartment door engages audibly.
Increase the temperature.
Switch off the "fast" function.
Do not open the appliance unnecessarily.
Remove obstacles.
Press the On/Off button ÿ .
Check whether the power is on.
Check mains fuse.
Check whether the mains plug is secure.
Defrosting the freezer compartment (see chapter
Defrosting). Always ensure that the freezer
compartment door is closed properly.
Call customer service.
See chapter "Light (LED)" section.
When the appliance is closed and opened, the light
is on again.
The temperature in the "cool-fresh" compartment
can be set to be 3 steps warmer and/or colder. If
the refrigerator compartment temperature is set to 0,
the "cool-fresh" compartment has a temperature
of almost 0 °C.
Note
A change to the standard setting will affect the
temperature in the refrigerator compartment and
freezer compartment.
1. Hold down "fast" button h for 3 seconds until
temperature display flashes.
2. Change the setting using the temperature
setting buttons +/-.
Setting -3 corresponds to the coldest setting
Setting +3 corresponds to the warmest setting
The selected setting is saved after one minute.
Start appliance self-test (see chapter "Appliance
self-test").
When the programme has ended, the appliance
switches over to normal operation.
