Eliminating minor faults yourself

Before you call customer service:
Please check whether you can eliminate the fault yourself based on the following information. Customer service will
charge you for advice - even if the appliance is still under guarantee!

Possible cause
Power failure; the fuse has been
switched off; the mains plug has
not been inserted properly.
Appliance door opened frequently.
Large amounts of fresh food have
been put away.
The ventilation openings have been
covered.
Temperature has been set too low.
The bulb is defective.
Light switch is sticking.
Strongly smelling food is not
sealed.
Possible cause
Fault with the appliance.
Ice maker is not connected to
the mains supply.
Childproof lock is activated.
Ice maker does not contain any
fresh water.
The freezer space temperature
is too high.
Childproof lock is activated.
Water tank fills itself up.
The appliance or ice maker has
only just been switched on.
A lot of ice has been taken.
The water filter is bunged up
or used.
Remedial action
Check whether the power is on. The appliance
must be switched on. Check whether the
mains plug is secure.
Do not open the door unnecessarily.
Activate the Quick freeze function.
Remove obstructions and dirt.
Select a warmer temperature (see "Setting the
temperature")
Replace bulb (see "Changing light bulbs").
Check whether it can be moved.
Cleaning the appliance. Seal strongly smelling
food (see "Odours")
Remedial action
It is necessary to inform customer service!
Call customer service.
Swich off the childproof lock.
Ensure that the water is properly connected.
If it is, call the customer service.
Check the freezer space temperature.
Reduce it where necessary.
Deactivate the lock.
When first used, it takes approx. 2 minutes
until the tank is filled.
Approx. 24 hours is needed until ice
production starts.
Approx. 24 hours is needed until the ice cube
container is filled again.
