Effective shoe heel height [mm]
4.2.3 Connecting the socket connector
Cut the Socket Connector tube to length, slip the back tube collar 4Y310 onto the Socket Con-
nector. Attach the proximal intake valve (Fig. 2, Pos. I) on the 1C62 Triton Harmony foot and press
tube collar down to secure the Socket Connector.
4.2.4 Static alignment optimization
If necessary, the alignment recommendations (TF modular leg prostheses: 646F219*, TT modular
leg prostheses: 646F336*) may be requested from Ottobock.
Use the L.A.S.A.R. Posture for static alignment optimisation of the prosthesis, if available.
4.2.5 Dynamic alignment optimization
Adapt the prosthetic alignment in the frontal plane (ML) and in the sagittal plane (AP) by angle
adjustments and/or sliding adjustments, in order to ensure correct heel contact, easy roll-over,
and optimal shifting of weight onto the contralateral side. For transtibial amputees please make
sure that there is physiological knee flexion during stance phase.
Using the optional heel wedges
CAUTION
Risk of falling due to change of the knee dynamics when using heel wedges.
The use of heel wedges can facilitate stance phase flexion when bearing weight on the prosthesis.
Therefore, particular caution is advised during the dynamic alignment optimization – especially
when a knee joint without stance phase control is used.
4.2.6 Heel wedge application
Two heel wedges are included to each 1C62 Triton Harmony prosthetic foot:
• „Soft" Heel Wedge: translucent
• „Stiff" Heel Wedge: graphite color
Should the patient feel the heel strike too soft or the knee in hyperextension during the mid-stance
phase, the heel can be stiffened by using one of the two heel wedges.
4.2.7 Inserting a heel wedge
INFORMATION
Ottobock recommends to test the foot first without using a heel wedge.
• The heel wedge is designed such that no adhesive is required to affix it to the prosthetic foot.
• Orient the heel wedge (Fig. 3, Pos. F) for insertion so the locking recess (Fig. 3, Pos. L) in the
wedge is positioned in the proximal and posterior direction.
• Slide the heel wedge into position from the posterior side of the prosthetic foot between the
attachment spring (Fig. 3, Pos. D) and heel spring (Fig. 3, Pos. B).
• The heel wedge is properly installed when the locking recess (Fig. 3, Pos. L) in the heel wedge
is fully seated around the mating stop (Fig. 3, Pos. K) on the attachment spring.
