d) Installation of mechanical cruise control

It is optional to equip your model vehicle with a me-
chanical or with an electronic cruise control.
This is the reason why there is a second servo frame
included in delivery with your model. It is intended
for the steering servo of a mechanical cruise con-
trol.
On the illustration opposite you can roughly see the
installation position for the cruise control servo (1)
and the mechanical cruise control (2).
The connecting rods between cruise control and

servo lever are not yet mounted but are illustrated
schematically to make things more clear.
Since you can only switch the drive function slow and fast driving forward as well as backward with a
mechanical cruise control, we recommend to equip your vehicle with an electronic cruise control.
For an electronic cruise control you have the possibility to accelerate and brake continuously and to
drive (depending on the version) backward. Furthermore, only the amount of energy that is needed for
the respective drive situation is taken from the drive battery.
A mechanical cruise control in comparison, inefficiently "burns up" the energy not needed during slow
driving because of a series resistance.

e) Installation of electronic cruise control

A cruise control for 540 standard motors is totally sufficient for the built-in electric motor. However,
should you want to upgrade later to a more powerful racing motor, it is recommended to buy a cruise
control right from the beginning that is laid out for this purpose.
The electronic cruise control (1) is fastened with
servo tape to the chassis bottom instead of the cruise
control servo.
In order to connect the motor with the cruise con-
trol, please use the respective motor connecting
cable (2), eg, Conrad item no. 22 40 37-62, that can
be soldered directly to the contacts of the motor
connection.
The possibly existing cruise control switch (3) is fas-
tened with servo tape or double-sided adhesive tape

to the steering servo frame.
