Preparation for diving
Leak test under positive pressure
Place the unit onto a surface with the back facing up-
wards. Set the relief valve to maximum response
pressure by turning it all the way on (clock-wise), then fill
the breathing circuit by means of the nitrox cylinder or
mouthpiece. Shut the cylinder valve or mouthpiece and
put approximately four pounds of weight on the breathing
bag. The bag must not noticeably sink within approxima-
tely half a minute.
Note concerning sodalime in the DrägerRay cartridge
Always prepare a fresh cartridge before every dive.
Check the filling directly before each dive.
The maximum usage period of the sodalime must not
be exceeded. The filling may be consumed during one
or more dives with a total usage period of 70 minutes
provided the dives are made within 24 hours. The
sodalime filling must be checked between the indivi-
dual dives (water ingress, packing density) and the
cartridge is to be stored sealed.
Always fill the cartridge shortly before each dive.

Before filling the cartridge, make sure that both sieves
are unblocked.
Do not pack the DiveSorb
dust may flow through the sieve in the cartridge and
thus reach the breathing bag.
Do not expose the filled cartridge to direct sunlight,
otherwise the soda-lime may dry out.
If the cartridge is left open, the DiveSorb
and its CO absorption capacity will be reduced.
