CO -scrubber cartridge

The CO -scrubber cartridge for the DrägerRay is

designed to last for approximately 70 min., provided
®
DiveSorb is used, and the temperature stays between
32 ºF/0 ºC to 85 ºF/30ºC. Be aware that this is only an
estimate, and should the scrubber be wet due to flooding
(such as that caused by taking the mouthpiece out
without first turning it off) it will last for considerably less
than 70 minutes.
If you plan to use the DrägerRay in water temperatures
below 50 º F/ 10 ºC, you should first store the

DiveSorb for 12 hours at room temperature (55 ºF -75
ºF/ 15 ºC -25 ºC) before diving, then fill the scrubber
cartridge with this pre-warmed DiveSorb
before diving.
Warning!
The maximum usage period of the soda-lime must
not be exceeded. The filling may be consumed
during one or more divings with a usage period of 70
minutes provided the dives are made within 24 hours.
The sodalime filling must be checked between the
individual dives (water ingress, packing density) and
the cartridge is to be stored sealed. Always prepare a
fresh cartridge before every dive. Check the filling
directly before each dive. Failure to do so could lead to
a failure of the scrubber unit during the dive, leading to
high levels of CO which could cause serious personal

injury or death.
Breathing cycle
The breathing cycle depends upon the setting of the relief
valve. The flow volume will be a maximum of 4.8 liters,
which includes the inhalation and exhalation sides.
Including the scrubber unit, the total volume of the brea-
thing cycles is about 7.8 liters.
Dead volume
The 'dead volume' contained within the mouthpiece
between the inhalation and exhalation valves is approxi-
mately 95 cc.
