The weight of the DrägerRay Rebreather with fully
charged nitrox cylinder (steel cylinder) and scrubber
cartridge is as follows:
on land: approximately 15 kg
in water: approximately 1 kg
Breathing gases
The unit is designed for use with Nitrox with an oxygen
content of 50 % by vol. No other mixtures may be used
with the DrägerRay.
Warning!
Use of any nitrox, air or other gas mixtures other
than the one specified above, could lead to
hypoxia, hyperoxia (oxygen toxicity), and/or decompres-
sion sickness, which can lead to serious personal injury
or death.
The unit is standardised for a gas mixture containing 50
% oxygen/ 50 % nitrogen.
The oxygen percentage in the different gas mixe must be
within a tolerance of +/-1 Vol.%.
The pertaining standards for purity of breathing gases
have to be observed, i.e. pure medical grade oxygen and
air according to purity standards, or pure single gases
with the prescribed specifications should be used for the
production of mixed gases.
Warning!
Follow all applicable standards for the purity of
breathing gases for the nitrox mixtures used with
the DrägerRay. For instance, pure medical grade rate
oxygen and air purified to (DIN 3188) EN132
standards, or the equivalent, should be used.
As with any components that use nitrox, be certain that
only oxygen compatible lubricants and materials are used
when servicing or repairing your DrägerRay.
