The charging and discharging cycle is controlled irrespective of the charging condi-
tion of the storage batteries.
The charging and discharging current is microcomputer-controlled.
The capacity indication of NiCd and NiMH storage batteries is not important for this
Charge Terminal. Only with lead storage batteries, the indicated nominal capacity
has to be entered.
The discharging current of the Charge Terminal of 125mA to 1.0A has been selected
practically oriented.
The Charge Terminal is equipped with an automatic float charge.
The Charge Terminal is equipped with an automatic fan control. The fan automatical-
ly switches on during the charge and discharge of the storage batteries. Additional-
ly, the fan is switched on automatically approx. Every 15 minutes for approx. 2 minu-
tes in order to cool the device, even if no program is running.
The Charge Terminal is equipped with an automatic storage battery monitoring
(charging voltage and charging quantity). The automatic storage battery recognition
immediately recognizes if a storage battery has been connected or disconnected.
The Charge Terminal provides the program REFRESH for exhausted storage batte-
ries.
The Charge Terminal prevents the memory effect (charging and discharging current
are clocked). Thus, a high internal resistance of the storage battery decreases and its
current carrying capacity increases.
The efficiency of the storage batteries increases (relation of the required charging
quantity to the capacity that can be drawn).
The Charge Terminal is equipped with a memory back-up. In case of a power failure,
the data of the storage battery and the current functions are stored for up to 2 days.
If the Charge Terminal is connected to the mains again, the program will be continu-
ed. For this, the Charge Terminal has to be connected to the mains and switched on
for at least two hours.
All entered parameters can be stored as a particular program and also can be loaded
again. For this purpose, the device provides 20 program memories. The stored pro-
grams can be deleted. It is only possible to delete a program, if no storage battery is
connected. As soon as a storage battery has been recognized, a program can be
loaded. If all parameters are entered,a program can be stored before it is started.

When charging with MANUAL I, U, T the maximum charging time can be set in 30
min steps from 30 minutes up to 16 hours. The time is indicated in "hh: mm"
Here, the time should be adapted to the charging current and the indications of the
storage battery. If e.g. for a storage battery of 5000mAh a charge with 500mA for 14h
is indicated, the time should be reduced to 7h in case of a selected charging current
of 1A.
SET CHA-TIME
00:30
In case of a charge with MANUAL I, U, C the maximum charging capacity is set bet-
ween 500mAh and 100Ah. This is the capacity that has to be charged into the stora-
ge battery, i.e. not the nominal capacity indicated on the storage battery. Here, you
should enter as capacity the 1.2 to 1.6-fold nominal capacity of the storage battery.
It is recommended to enter the 1.4-fold nominal capacity. Please observe that it is
recommended to select a high charging capacity for a low charging current and vice
versa.
SET CHA-CAP
500mAh
Now, adjust the discharging mode. You can select 2 different discharging modes. As
in the CHARGE program the storage battery is only charged, This menu topic is skip-
ped in the CHARGE program.
SET DIS-MODE
1. AUTOMATIC
2. MANUAL I,Umin
With automatic discharge, the discharging current is reduced automatically with the
carrying capacity of the storage battery decreasing, whereas in the manual mode the
current value is set. Please observe that in the automatic mode, the discharging
times might increase.
In case of a discharge with MAN. I, Umin you have to enter first the maximum
discharging current. It can be adjusted in 125mA steps from 125mA up to 1A.
SET DIS-CURRENT
125mA
Lead storage batteries are discharged with approx. C/ 20 in case of automatic
discharge. This value is suggested on the display during the discharge with MAN. I,
Umin.
Then, select the final discharge voltage.
For NiCd and NiMH storage batteries, the final discharge voltage can be adjusted in
10mV steps from 0.80 up to
1.15V per cell. The display suggests the value 1.00V.
For standard lead storage batteries, the final discharge voltage can be adjusted in
10mV steps from 2.00 up to 2.10V per cell. The suggested value is 2.00V. As
