For camcorder storage batteries etc. always observe the operating
manual of the storage batteries and the charging current! Otherwise,
the internal fuses of the storage battery pack might be destroyed.
Please make sure that storage batteries of type R6 (mignon cell) are
compatible for boost charge.
In commercial and industrial facilities the regulations for the preventi-
on of accidents as laid down by the professional trade association for
electrical equipment and devices need to be observed.
Mains and charging units used at schools, training facilities, do-it-
yourself and hobby workshops should not be handled unless if super-
vised by trained, responsible personnel.
When opening covers or removing parts, unless this can be done
manually, you might expose live parts. Even contact areas might carry
voltage. Therefore, disconnect the device from all voltage sources
before performing adjustments, maintenance work, repairs or repla-
cing parts if it is necessary to open the device. If afterwards adjust-
ments, maintenance work or repairs at the open device are necessary,
this work must be carried out by an EXPERT familiar with the dangers
involved and the relevant regulations.
Capacitors inside the device might still carry voltage even though the
device has been disconnected from all voltage sources.
Please make sure that the fuses are replaced only by fuses of the indi-
cated type and nominal current. It is not admissible to use repaired
fuses or to bridge the fuse holder.
The fuse replacement must be carried out by an expert familiar with
the dangers involved and the relevant regulations. Do not wear metal-
lic or conductive jewelry such as e.g. chains, bracelets, rings, etc.
when working on mains and charging devices!
Do not use mains and charging devices with people or animals.
When working on live parts, only use special tools admitted for this
work.
If there is reason to believe that safe operation has become impossi-
ble, put the device out of operation and secure it against unintended
operation.

The programs CHA and ALV start with a charge, the programs DIS, CHK, WIN and
SLF start with a discharge. All available data of the storage battery are indicated.

The first line indicates the charging program (e.g. CHA for CHARGE) and the char-
ging capacity. When the charge is running, an arrow in front of "C" is flashing.
The second line indicates the storage battery type (Ni for NiCd and NiMH storage
batteries, Pb for lead storage batteries), the cell number, the general charging mode
(A if an automatic charge/discharge is selected or M for manual charge) and the
discharging capacity. When the discharge is running, an arrow in front of "D" is flas-
hing.
The third line indicates the temperature inside the Charge Terminal. During charge, it
equals the ambient temperature, but during discharge measured outgoing air is indi-
cated. Anyway, this is the operating temperature of the Charge Terminal and is deci-
sive for the control for switch-off incase the respective temperature limits are excee-
ded.
In the program SELF DISCHARGE the calculated efficiency is indicated, if it has
already been calculated (i.e. after the last charging process).

Next to the efficiency, the measured storage battery voltage is indicated. If the volta-
ge is not yet determined, the display indicates

The fourth and last line indicates the processing time already passed in hh: mm.
When 100 hours are reached, the time is reset to 00: 00 (this is only possible in the
program WINTER). The charging and discharging current are indicated as well. With
the programs SELF DISCHARGE and WINTER, the passing time is indicated during
the pause as T= DAYS/ hh: mm.
An arrow in front of "T" is flashing.

The keys ENTER, UP and DOWN have no function during operation.
A running program only can be interrupted by disconnecting the storage battery. If
the storage battery is disconnected during charge or discharge, ERR for an error
might be indicated for a moment, because the device recognizes that no current is
flowing anymore.
Afterwards, the display shows the stand-by indication.
