Moreover, this Charge Terminal is intended for charging standard lead-acid storage
batteries, lead-fleece and lead-gel storage batteries consisting of 1 to 6 or of 12
cells. The nominal capacity of these storage battery types has to be within 500mAh
to 100Ah. To charge car batteries, separate the car battery from the vehicle electrical
system, remove the battery and put it at a well-ventilated place.
This Charge Terminal is intended for charging ONLY the mentioned storage battery
types with the respective number of cells. Do not charge other storage batteries or
storage battery packs with cell numbers other than the indicated cell numbers!
Do not charge or discharge lithium-ion storage batteries, rechargeable alkaline or dry
batteries (primary cells) with this Charge Terminal! Do not charge non-rechargeable
batteries!

Read this operating manual carefully. In the case of any damages
which are caused due to failure to observe these operating
instructions, the guarantee will expire. We do not assume liability
for resulting damages.

2. General

Storage batteries consist of two electrodes in an electrolyte. Therefore, a storage
battery is a chemical element. Inside this element, chemical processes are going on.
As these processes are reversible, storage batteries can be recharged.
Charging a storage battery requires the so-called charging voltage which has to be
higher than the cell voltage. Furthermore, during the charging process, more energy
(mAh) has to be supplied than can be drawn afterwards. The relation between sup-
plied and drawn energy is called efficiency.
The capacity that can be drawn and which depends on the discharging current is
decisive for the condition of the storage battery. The supplied charge cannot serve
as criterion, because a part of it will get lost (e.g. is converted into heat).
The manufacturer's capacity indication is the maximum theoretical charge that can
be supplied by the storage battery. This means that e.g. a storage battery of 2000
mAh theoretically can supply a current of 1000 mA (= 1 Ampere) for two hours.
However, these values strongly depend on different factors (condition of the storage
battery, discharging current, temperature, etc.)

7. Technical Data

The Charge Terminal is intended for charging NiCd and NiMH storage battery packs
consisting of storage batteries of the sizes R20 (mono cell), R14 (baby cell), R6 (mig-
non cell) and sub-C cells. The storage battery packs may consist of 1 to 20 cells. The
nominal capacity of these storage battery types ( indicated in mAh or Ah) is not
important.
