Now, the storage battery can be removed.
If you leave the storage battery connected and if it is necessary for the storage bat-
tery, the trickle charge program TRICKLE (TRI) starts automatically. This means that
the storage battery is recharged (this is not valid if the storage battery only has been
discharged with the program DISCHARGE!). The capacity (C) of the trickle charge
and the required time (hh: mm) are not indicated or added. Only the voltage and the
current are continuously up-dated. Therefore, the charging capacity, discharging
capacity and the time always refer to the program worked off.

This Charge Terminal is equipped with a memory back-up, i.e. the program and the
added capacity values of the storage battery are stored in case of a power failure.
Never replace the storage battery when the Charge Terminal is switched off, becau-
se the Charge Terminal takes over the data that are no longer valid and determines
wrong values for the new storage battery!

and which is also switched on for a short time approximately every 15
minutes in stand-by mode. Please ensure sufficient distance between
the Charge Terminal and the wall or other barriers in order not to impe-
de the air circulation during operation.
The fan has to switch on automatically as soon as a connected stora-
ge battery is charged or discharged, which can be seen by means of
the charging or discharging current "I" indicated on the display or the
flashing of one of the two status indicators (LED). The noise of the run-
ning fan can be easily heard. If the fan does not run, the Charge Termi-
nal has to be switched off immediately and secured against uninten-
ded operation!
Renowned storage battery manufacturers recommend ambient tem-
peratures of approx. 20° C during the charging process. Protect the
Charge Terminal from direct sunlight.
The single cells have to be soldered or welded with each other. For
charging, the storage battery pack has to be connected with the Char-
ge Terminal by means of cables which are as short as possible. The
maximum length of the connecting cables must not exceed 1.5m and
should have a cross section of at least 1.0 mm 2. Do not use battery
supports with springs and rivets, because the plastic might melt at the
maximum current. It is important to ensure a good contact as well as
direct access to the storage battery itself: the storage battery pack
must not be equipped with a protective diode, because with this diode
it is not possible to discharge the storage battery pack.
This Charge Terminal makes use of a new charging technique which
prevents the memory effect and guarantees a charge of 100% of the
storage battery.
To ensure proper operation of the Charge Terminal, only use the
recommended accessories for the support of the storage batteries.
Usual commercial battery supports are not conceived for such char-
ging currents and might overheat at the contact areas. This might
involve overheating of the storage battery and deformation of the pla-
stic material.
As the storage battery temperature is part of the calculation by the
microprocessor, a premature cut-off of the charging cycle might result.
Charging cables with a small cross section and ready-made cables
with jack plugs etc. are not admissible.
