discharging standard lead storage batteries with values of under 2.0V per cell might
damage the battery, this damage thus is prevented.
For lead gel and lead fleece storage batteries, the final discharge voltage per cell can
be adjusted in 10mV steps from 1.75 up to 2.00V. The suggested value is 1.90V.
SET DIS-VOLTAGE
1.00V
For the programs SELF DISCHARGE and WINTER, the pause between the individu-
al cycles has to be determined. The pause can be set from 1 to 30 days.

When all necessary parameters are entered, the charging program can be started.

1. START WORKING
If this storage battery shall be treated again according to the same parameters, it is
recommended to store the parameters as a single program.

2. SAVE PROGRAM
To store the data, you can search for a free storage location or overwrite an existing
program (it is recommended to mark the storage battery pack with the new program
number).

Between the programs 20 and 1 there is again the possibility to stop the storing pro-
cess.

1. START WORKING
If any parameters are not entered correctly, the storage battery
pack has to be disconnected immediately and connected again.
All parameters have to be entered again!
When starting the program, the integrated fan is switched on and the flashing arrow
indicates whether the connected storage battery is being charged or discharged.

Safe operation must be presumed to be no longer possible, if
- the device exhibits visible damage
- if the device does not operate any longer
- the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long peri-
od of time or
- the product was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by trans-
port.
Damaged mains connecting cables must be replaced by trained
experts only.
Do not operate the device near strong magnetic fields (speakers,
magnets), electromagnetic fields (transformers, engines, coils, relays,
contactors, electromagnets), electrostatic fields (chargings / dischar-
gings), transmitting antennas or HF generators. This might affect ope-
ration of the Charge Terminal.
If the Charge Terminal does not react after having been affected by
strong magnetic fields, switch it off and on again by means of the
mains switch.
Also observe chapter 6 "Troubleshooting".

4. Features

The present Charge Terminal is a quick-charge device for NiCd, NiMH and lead sto-
rage battery packs.
The microprocessor-controlled boost charge provides a 100% charge of the storage
batteries. 100% means up to 115% of the indicated capacity for new storage batte-
ries and less than 100% of the indicated capacity for older storage batteries.
For storage batteries with a capacity less than 1000 mAh, the discharge capacity (D)
might be less than 100%. However, this discharge value has to be higher than 80%,
otherwise the storage battery pack might be defective (please check this by means
of the ALIVE program).
Provided that all parameters are set correctly, this Charge Terminal does not over-
charge the storage batteries.
With the Charge Terminal it is not necessary to discharge the storage batteries befo-
re charging them. The storage battery is charged from its present charging condition
up to the possible 100%.
