den table, crate or cardboard box for this purpose. On no account,
use anything containing metal (camping table etc). Similarly, there
should be no conductibe materials in the vicinity (fences, cars etc.)
and your assistant should not be standing too close to the model.
• First start up the model without the drive motor. Slowly move away
from the model while slowly but continuously controlling a rudder
function.
• While moving away from the model, observe the control to check
whether it fails or stops. If necessary, enlist the help of an assistant
to check control operation from a distance. While moving away,
also turn the transmitter to the left and right hand side to simulate
different aerial to model orientations.
• A range of at least 50 m should be reached in Power Down mode
(range test mode). A typical range result will be approx. 8-120 m,
which represents a very good result.
If the range is less than 40 m, do not fly the model and establish the
cause of the loss of range!.
• If the initial range test is successful, repeat the same test with the
motor running (caution: secure model if necessary). The range
achieved now should only be slightly less (approx. 20%). If it is
much lower, this indicates that the drive unit is interfering with the
receiver.
Find a remedy to the problem, by making sure that all the above
measures have been correctly carried out.

Telecommunication Requirements
R&TTE is the European Directive for Radio Equipment and Telecom-
munications Terminal Equipment and the mutual recongition of its
conformity. Inter alia, the R&TTE Directive defines the circulation and
commissioning of radio equipment in the European Community.
A major change in the Directive is the abolition of the approval of
individual radios. Prior to introducing a new radio system into the
market, the manufacturer or importer must carry out a conformity
evaluation of the equipment and subsequently register it with the
relevant authorities. Electronic goods must not be disposed of in the
household waste. Therefore, the device carries the symbol shown
opposite.
