15. Maintenance
m
WARNING
Risk of injury due to unexpected start-up of the machine
-
Unplug the mains plug from the socket before carry-
ing out any cleaning or maintenance work.
m WARNING
Warning of unforeseeable hazards and product damage
-
Never carry out unauthorised modifications or re-
pairs to the product that are not described in the
operating instructions.
-
Do not carry out work described for a specialist
workshop.
15.1 General information
• Check the product for loose, worn or damaged com-
ponents.
• Check the nuts, pins and screws for firm seating.
• Check the covers and protective equipment for dam-
age and correct seating.
• Check the electrical connections.
15.2 Product-specific information
• Check the saw blade regularly. Use only saw blades
that are well sharpened, free of cracks and not de-
formed. Only use saw blades that comply with
EN 847-1.
• Replace worn swivel frame bearings immediately.
• Check that no tools or miscellaneous parts are on or
in the machine before putting it back into operation.
• Remove any sawdust accumulations at the discharge.
15.3 Oiling the product
1.
To increase the service life of the product, oil the
rotating parts once a month.
2.
Use a high-quality, low-viscosity machine oil to lu-
bricate all moving parts.
3.
Do not oil the motor.
m Never use a high-pressure cleaner to clean your
machine. Water can penetrate sealed areas of the ma-
chine and the transmission housing and cause dam-
age to spindles, gear wheels, bearings or the engine.
The use of high-pressure cleaners shortens the ser-
vice life and reduces the ease of maintenance.
15.4 Saw blade replacement (Fig. 5, 7, 10)
m Pull out the mains plug before changing the saw
blade.
m Risk of burns! The saw blade is still hot shortly
after sawing.
m WARNING
Danger of injury! Improper handling of the swivel log
saw may result in serious injury.
m WARNING
Risk of injury to fingers and hands due to sharp edges
- Wear protective gloves.
1.
Pull the spring cotter pin (12a) out of the hole to
unhook the guide plate (outer) (12).
2.
Loosen the upper screw (7a) and the lower screws
(7b + 7c) on the protective flap (7) and unscrew
them approx. 5 mm.
3.
Pull the connection port (extraction) (11) back so
far that the protective flap (7) can be opened un-
hindered.
4.
Open the protective flap (7).
5.
To lock the saw blade (6a), insert the safety cot-
ter pin (saw blade) (8) through the corresponding
opening on the protective cover (7). To do this,
insert the locking pin (saw blade) (8) fully and
straight into the opening for locking (saw blade)
(8a). Use the corresponding opening for the lock-
ing device (saw blade) (8a) so that the locking pin
(saw blade) (8) rests against the lowest point (tooth
base) of the saw blade (6a).
6.
Turn the hexagon head screw (6e) anti-clockwise
to open it.
7.
Remove the M12 x 30 mm bolt (6e), the washer
(6d) and the outer saw blade flange (6c) from the
drive shaft.
8.
Now remove the saw blade (6a) from the drive
shaft.
9.
Clean the external and internal saw blade flange
(6b + 6c) carefully, before fitting a new saw blade
(6a).
10. Place a new saw blade (6a) on the drive shaft.
Observe the direction of rotation: The cutting an-
gle of the teeth must point in the running direction
(forwards).
11. Fit the external saw blade flange (6c) back on the
drive shaft. Ensure the correct alignment of the
outer saw blade flange (6c).
12. Tighten the M12 x 30 mm bolt (6e) on the drive
shaft by hand.
