Fix the bench grinder to the workbench using the
two suitable screws and nuts (not included in the
scope of delivery). To do so, use the two holes for
workbench assembly (7).
9.2
Tool support (Fig. 2)
1.
Screw the tool support (4) to the grinding wheel
cover (6) using the star grip screw (4a), the spring
washer (4b) and the washer (4c).
2.
Set the distance between the grinding disc (3) and
the tool support (4) to a maximum of 2 mm.
Note: Adjust the tool support (4) so that the angle be-
tween the tool support (4) and the insert tool is always
greater than 85°.
9.3
Spark protection (Fig. 3)
1.
Screw the spark protection (2) to the grinding
wheel cover (6) with a Phillips screw incl. wash-
er (2a).
2.
The distance to the grinding wheel (3) should be
not more than max. 2mm.
9.4
Protective panels (Fig. 4 - 5)
1.
Mount the protective panel (1) to the clamping
plate with two crosshead screws M4 (1a) and hex-
agon nuts (1b).
2.
The retaining bracket (1c) is inserted into the
clamping plate and clamped with the M6 truss-
head bolt (1d) with washer (1e) and nut (1f).
3.
Screw the complete onto to the grinding wheel
cover (6) with U-bolt, hexagon screw M6 and
washer (see fig. 5).
The protection is individually adjustable so that the
user's eyes are protected during the grinding process.
10. Operation
m Attention!
Always make sure the device is fully assembled
before commissioning!
Check the grinding disc for possible damage each
time before commissioning.
m Attention! Always wear safety goggles!
Safety goggles must always be worn during grinding
and thicknessing.
10.1 Switching on/off (fig. 1)
1.
To switch on, set the on/off switch (8) to position
"I".
2.
To switch off, set the on/off switch (8) to position
"0.
Do not start grinding until the device has reached
its maximum speed.
10.2 Working instructions
• Note that the best results are achieved with low
pressure of the workpiece on the grinding disc, as
then work is done at a constant speed. Excessive
pressure on the workpiece brakes the grinding disc
or it comes to a standstill, this overloads the engine
and does not accelerate the work process.
• For your own safety, always secure small workpiec-
es with a vice or screw clamp.
10.3 Grinding
1.
Place the workpiece on the workpiece support (4)
and slowly move it towards the grinding disc (3) at
the desired angle until it touches it.
2.
To obtain an optimum grinding result and to wear
the grinding disc (3) evenly, the workpiece should
be moved slightly back and forth on the grinding
disc (3).
3.
Always allow the workpiece to cool down.
Attention!
If the disc/wheel should jam while working, please re-
move your workpiece and wait until the device has
reached its maximum speed again.
10.4 Grinding wheel extractor
The grinding wheel extractor (10) is a tool for levelling
the grinding wheel (3).
1.
Press lightly against the grinding wheel (3) - with-
out producing sparks.
2.
Move the grinding wheel extractor (10) sideways
across the entire width of the grinding wheel (3).
11. Cleaning and maintenance
Pull out the mains plug before all maintenance and
cleaning work.
11.1 Cleaning
• Keep protective devices, air vents and the engine
housing as free of dust and dirt as possible. Rub
the device clean with a clean cloth or blow it off with
compressed air at low pressure.
