Connecting the RS232 interface (→ Fig. 4, item A)
Warning!
The RS232 interface may only be used outside Ex areas.
A PC (9-pin SUB-D plug) is connected to the connection socket (4-pin, female) for the RS232 digital
interface using the RS232 interface cable (4-pin, male). The Endress+Hauser device software Read-
®
Win
2000 allows remote configuration and measuring data polls.
4.1.3
Connecting the battery charger and charging the battery
Warning!
The battery compartment may be opened and the battery may be charged outside the Ex-area only.
Proceed as follows to charge the battery:
Remove the battery:
1.
Unscrew the battery compartment cover (→ Fig. 2, item b) with an Allen key (4 mm).
2.
Disconnect the connector in the device from the battery.
3.
Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
Connect to the battery charger:
1.
Connect the charging plug of the battery charger to the battery (→ Fig. 6)
2.
Connect the mains plug of the battery charger to the power supply.

Note!
Only battery chargers offered by the manufacturer are to be used (see "Spare parts" → Page 83). If
other chargers are used, this can destroy the battery!

The controller meets all the requirements of IP 54 degree of protection.
