Safety instructions
1.1
Designated use
The Liquiport 2000 Ex is a portable sampler for liquid media approved for use in Ex areas, Zone 1
and 2. The samples are taken discontinuously using a hose pump and distributed to sampling con-
tainers.
The manufacturer does not accept liability for damage caused by improper or non-designated use.
The device can cause danger if used improperly or other than intended. If it is obvious that safe oper-
ation is no longer possible (e.g. visible damage), please take the device immediately out of service.
Secure the device against unintentional start-up.
1.2
Installation, commissioning and operation
Installation, electrical connection, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the device must
only be carried out by specially trained personnel who have been authorised to do so by the system
operator. The personnel must have read and understood these Operating Instructions and follow
the instructions contained within. Before connecting the device, ensure that the power supply cor-
responds to the value specified on the nameplate. Before switching on the system, again check that
all connections are correct.
Warning!
• If the housing or housing parts (e.g. control) are damaged, the device must be taken out of service
immediately and protected against unintentional start-up.
• If you open the hose pump while the sampler is in operation, there is the danger of your fingers
being crushed!
• For this reason, make sure that the sampler has been taken out of service (activate "Off" switch,
→ Fig. 8) before opening the hose pump. The sampler is no longer in operation once the LC dis-
play has gone out.
• Secure the sampler against unintentional start-up whilst you carry out work on the open hose
pump.
