INSTALLATION
starjet, in order to operate must be connect-
ed to a dental unit equipped for water and air
distribution.
NOTE: The device does not require any
electrical and/or electronic connections to be
made.
starjet is supplied with a specific adapter for
the main couplings to the dental unit turbine
(see Chapter 4.1 on page 10
CAUTION: Use starjet only with the
specific coupling for the relative turbine.
Connecting starjet to a connector not
intended for use in combination with the
dental unit may damage the device.
The dental unit to which starjet is connected
must be a medical device that complies with
general and applicable product regulations
for the specific category of dental unit, and in
general, satisfy the following standards:
• ISO 7494 Dentistry – Stationary dental
units and dental patient chairs;
• ISO 9168 Dentistry – Hose connectors
for air driven dental handpieces;
• ISO 60601-1 Medical electrical
equipment – Part 1: General
requirements for basic safety and
essential performance.
CAUTION: Check that the dental unit
to which starjet is connected satisfies the
specified requirements.
The device must be installed in a suitable
place allowing its comfortable use.
4.1
Couplings for Turbine
starjet can be connected to the turbine of the dental unit using fixed or quick couplings.
4.1.1
Fixed Couplings for Turbine
The fixed couplings with which starjet can be supplied are:
• Midwest - ISO 9168 Type 3: Standard
4-hole;
• Borden - ISO 9168 Type 1: Borden
2-hole.

For starjet to operate correctly, the air and wa-
ter pressure values must be within the intend-
ed range of use, specifically:

.
lasting performance, ensure the air flowing
from the dental unit is thoroughly dry and
filtered.
Moreover, it is essential to ensure that the air
pressure is between 2.0 and 3.0 bar inclusive,
measured at the point of the connection
between the device and the dental unit.
NEVER use excessive air pressure.
Increasing the air pressure does not
correspond to an increase in performance;
to the contrary, the device may become
damaged or fail to work properly.
To ensure the correct operation of the device,
it is necessary to check:
To connect the device to a fixed coupling,
screw in the screw terminal.
Unscrew the screw terminal to disconnect the
device from a fixed coupling.
• For water, from 1.0 to 3.0 bar (from
1000 hPa to 3000 hPa), max 40 °C;
• For air, from 2.0 to 3.0 bar (2000 hPa -
3000 hPa).
CAUTION: To ensure proper and long-
• The "spray" water supply coming from
the turbine;
• The air supply coming from the turbine;
• The presence of powder.
