9.1 Accessing the solution
Make sure that the safety devices on the cover and gasket
are checked according to local regulations.
We recommend that the cover and gasket are checked at
least once a year.
Damage to the safety devices, cover and gasket must be
remedied immediately. Contact Grundfos.
Contact Grundfos service for repair in case of damage to
the cover.
Check that the ladder and the ladder attachment provided
by Grundfos are inspected according to local regulations.

Before work is performed in the pit, make sure that the
cover has been properly opened and secured against

Access to the iGRID Pressure and Temperature Zone pit solution
It is possible to access the iGRID Pressure and Temperature Zone
pit solution via the cover and the fixed ladder with handles.
The cover and fall protection grid must be secured and locked in
open position before accessing the pit.

When leaving the pit, the cover must be closed and locked with a
padlock or special tool to prevent unwanted access.
Check the ladder with handles fixed in the pit and the attachment
points of the handles at least once a year for cracks, corrosion and
other irregularities. Do not stand on the pump or pumps, pipes or
any other equipment installed in the pit when accessing or leaving
the pit.
All work at the solution must be carried out according to
local regulations.
When working in or near an open pit, always place warning
signs and safety guards around the pit to ensure that persons
and vehicles do not fall into the pit. The warning signs must be
clearly marked and visible from all sides.
The cover and the locking device must be operated by the same
person.
The cover and the locking device must only be used when no
persons are in the pit.

9.1.1 Isolating valves

Make sure to operate the isolating valves at least once
every 6 months to ensure they are functional.

9.2 Replacing a pump

To replace a pump in the iGRID Pressure and Temperature
Zone solution, do the following:
1. Disconnect the power supply.
2. Make sure that the pipe system connected to the pump is
isolated from the district heating pipe system and that the valves
cannot be unintentionally reconnected.
3. Depressurise the pipe system, and drain it slowly of district
heating water.
4. Drain the pump of water if possible.
5. Disconnect the cables connected to the pump power supply.
6. Dismantle the wiring connections to the sensors connected
directly to the pump, and retract them to the sensor.
7. Loosen and remove the bolts and nuts in the flange.
8. Loosen and remove the bolts and nuts in the motor bracket.
9. Mount the new pump by following the procedure in reverse.
