Structure of the I/O Module Data

6.1

Process data

The process data in the I/O zone may not exceed 320 bits.
6.1.1

Input module 2AI2M12-E

The 2AI2M12E input module receives actual analog values from the sensors. It translates these
values into digital input data that is sent to the controller. The length of the input data is 2 x 16 bits.
The assignment of the input data is dependent on the parameterization, which is described in
sections 6.3.1 "Input module 2AI2M12E" on page 88 and 6.3.2 "Data formats and value ranges of
input module 2AI2M12E" on page 89.
Depending on the fieldbus system used, this data can be placed in any position in the process image.
6.1.2

Input module 4AI4M12E

The 4AI4M12E input module receives actual analog values from the sensors. It translates these
values into digital input data that is sent to the controller. The length of the input data is 4 x 8 bits.
The assignment of the input data is dependent on the parameterization, which is described in
sections 6.3.3 "Input module 4AI4M12E" on page 93 and 6.3.4 "Data formats and value ranges of
input module 4AI4M12E" on page 94.
Depending on the fieldbus system used, this data can be placed in any position in the process image.
6.1.3

Combination module 2AI2AO2M12-AE

The 2AI2AO2M12AE combination module receives digital output data from the controller with set
points for the actuators and receives actual analog values from the sensors.
The combination module translates the digital output data into the analog output signals required to
actuate the actuators. The length of the output data is 2 x 16 bits.
The combination module translates the actual analog values into digital input data that is sent to the
controller. The length of the input data is 2 x 16 bits.
The assignment of the input data and output data is dependent on the parameterization, which is
described in sections 6.3.5 "Combination module 2AI2AO2M12AE" on page 98 and 6.3.6 "Data
formats and value ranges of combination module 2AI2AO2M12AE" on page 99.
Depending on the fieldbus system used, this data can be placed in any position in the process image.
6.1.4

Output module 2AO2M12E

The output module receives digital output data from the controller with set points for the actuators.
The output module translates the digital output data into the analog output signals required to
actuate the actuators. The length of the output data is 2 x 16 bits.
The assignment of the output data is dependent on the parameterization, which is described in 6.3.7
"Output module 2AO2M12E" on page 107 and 6.3.8 "Data formats and value ranges of output module
2AO2M12E" on page 108.
Depending on the fieldbus system used, this data can be placed in any position in the process image.
6.1.5

Pressure measurement module 4P4D4

The pressure measurement module 4P4D4 records pressure values using its internal pressure
sensors. It translates these values into digital input data that is sent to the controller. The length of
the input data is 4 x 8 bits. The assignment of the input data is dependent on the permanently
programmed function of the modules, which is described in sections 6.3.9 "Pressure measurement
module 4P4D4" on page 112 and 6.3.10 "Data formats and value ranges for the pressure
