Conversion of the I/O zone

9.3.1

Permissible configurations

No more than ten I/O modules may be connected to the bus coupler. All available I/O modules from
the AES series may be used for expansion or conversion.
If the unit has more than three I/O modules, retaining brackets must be used. The space
between the retaining brackets must not exceed 150 mm (see the assembly instructions for the
bus couplers and I/O modules, as well as the AV valve system).
A malfunction occurs if the total current for all sensor supplies on an input module exceeds
0.5 A!
Short-circuit monitoring is activated for the input module.
Make sure that the total current for all sensor supplies does not exceed 0.5 A.
We recommend an expansion of the I/O modules starting from the left end of the valve system.
9.3.2

Conversion documentation

The PLC configuration key is printed on the top of the I/O modules.
Always document all changes to your configuration.
9.4

New PLC configuration for the valve system

Configuration error!
An incorrect valve system configuration can cause malfunctions in and damage to the overall
system.
The configuration may therefore only be carried out by an electrical specialist!
Observe the specifications of the system owner as well as any restrictions resulting from the
overall system.
Observe the online documentation for your configuration software.
After converting the valve system, you need to configure the newly added components. Components
that are still in their original slots will be detected and do not require a new configuration.
If you have exchanged components without changing their order, you do not need to reconfigure
the valve system. All components will be recognized by the controller.
Proceed with the PLC configuration as specified in the system descriptions for the bus couplers.
