Problem
The kettle does not shut
off automatically, when
the water is boiling.
The AUTO STEEP button
flashes during operation or
"E4" is displayed.
The power base and/
or base of the kettle get
unexpectedly hot during
operation.
Immediately unplug the
appliance.
Reason
The kettle is not closed
correctly.
Excessive amounts of lime
influence the temperature
control.
You are using the appli-
ance at high altitude.
The temperature probe is
damaged.
The cantilever is blocked.
The pusher of the filter
system is blocked.
An internal error occurred.
The power cord has been
wound partly around the
cable storage during ope-
ration.
The Solution
Due to high energy loss via excessive evaporation of
water, the temperature control will only work correctly, if
the kettle is closed correctly. For operation, always cover
the kettle by the appropriate lid set or filter system (see:
'Operation / Preparing the Appliance for Operation').
Descale the kettle in time (see: 'Care and Cleaning /
Descaling the Kettle'). Excessive deposits of lime could
damage the kettle.
At high altitude (e.g. on high mountains), the ambient
pressure is reduced, leading to a somewhat lower boiling
temperature. Therefore, the temperature for automatic
shut off (100°C) may not be approachable. Switch off
the kettle manually (see: 'Cancelling Operation'). Set a
lower temperature, before starting a program.
The temperature probe sticks out of the heating plate
approx. 1cm. Take care during cleaning to avoid damage.
Contact your vendor for examination and repair.
See below: 'Error Messages'.
See below: 'Error Messages'.
Unplug the appliance and wait at least 30 minutes. Then
try again. If the problem persists, contact your vendor.
Leave the appliance cool down. Always unwind the power
cord completely, before operation to avoid overheating.
Check the power cord for any damage (e.g. discoloura-
tion, damage of the insulating sleeve, or deformation).
Do not operate the appliance again, with the power cord
damaged!
