12. Wipe dry all parts. Thereafter, leave the parts of the appliance dry naturally for
approx. 30 minutes, where they are out of reach of young children.

DESCALING THE KETTLE

For descaling you may use plain white vinegar. However, we recommend to use the
Gastroback Premium Descaler (Art.-No.: 98175). This descaler is containing spe-
cial additives for preserving the metal surfaces thus maintaining high performance of
Gastroback appliances.

during descaling.
1. When using the Gastroback Premium Descaler, prepare 1500ml (1.5 litres) of
the descaling solution according to the instructions on the pack. Alternatively mix
500ml white vinegar with 1000ml of water.
2. Fill the descaling solution into the kettle. Close the kettle via the lid ring and lid.
Simply leave the kettle rest for at least 1 hour.
3. To assist descaling, if the interior of the kettle is coated with large amounts of
scale: Ensure good ventilation, and keep the kettle closed via the lid set. Warm
up the solution with the lowest possible temperature setting (50 °C) by pres-
sing the WATER button (see: 'Operation / Heating Clear Water'). When the
appliance switches to keep warm and the appropriate acoustic signal is given,
cancel operation by pressing the WATER button again. With the lid still closed,
leave the solution cool down within the kettle for at least 1 hour.
4. Empty the kettle and rinse the lid, lid ring, and interior of the kettle with clear tap
water.
5. Repeat the steps 1 to 4, if there is still any scale left.
6. With the scale removed completely, fill the kettle to the "1.5L / MAX WATER"
filling level (1500ml) with clear tap water and bring the water to the boil (set
the temperature to 100°C / 212°F and press the WATER button). Wait for the
acoustic signal.
7. Discard the water and leave the kettle cool down. Then rinse the interior of the
kettle, lid, and lid ring again.
8. When an odour of descaler can still be noticed, repeat steps 6 and 7. There-
after the appliance is ready for use again.
