Checking / replacing the spark plug
- Do not touch the spark plug or the spark plug
connector while the engine is running. High voltage!
- Risk of burning on the hot engine.
- Wear protective gloves.
Check the spark plug and the spark gap on a regular basis.
For this proceed as follows:
Allow the engine to cool down.
Pull the spark plug connector (49) from
the spark plug (48).
Remove the spark plug using the
supplied spark plug socket spanner (50).
The spark gap must be 0.7 to 0.8 mm.
Clean the spark plug when it is contaminated.
Install the spark plug in reverse order.
Do not overtighten the spark plug.
Replace the spark plug:
every 100 hours or once in a year (whichever case comes
-
first)
when the insulating body is damaged,
-
when the electrodes show excessive erosion,
-
when the electrodes show excessive dirt or oil.
-
Use the following spark plug type: F7RTC
Alternative spark plugs:
Bosch WR 7 DC; NGK VPR 6 ES; Champion RN 9 YC;
Oregon OLR 15 YC

Checking the ignition spark

1. Allow the engine to cool down.
2.
Pull the spark plug connector (49) from the spark plug
(48).
3.
Remove the spark plug using the supplied spark plug
socket spanner (50).
4. Firmly connect the spark plug connector.
5. Adjust the engine as described in "Cold start of the engine"
(section 1-4).
6. Use an insulated pair of tongs to press the spark plug
against the engine body (away from the spark plug hole).
7. Firmly pull the cranking rope on the cranking handle.
A spark between the electrodes is a sign of proper
functioning.
Silencer / exhaust outlet
Check the silencer (36) on a regular basis
Clean the exhaust outlet (d) on a regular basis.
Do not clean the silencer when the engine is hot. Dan-
ger of burning!

Change engine oil
Change the oil as long as the engine is still warm. Warm oil
drains quickly and completely.
The oil must be changed after the first 5 operating hours. Then,
only every 100 operating hours or once in a season.
Unscrew the oil drain plug (31).
Open the oil filling plug (30).
Place a container with a capacity of at least 0.6 litres
below the oil drain plug.
Tilt the motor hoe to allow the oil to flow out.
Thoroughly clean the area around the oil outlet.
Screw the oil drain plug (31) in.
Fill new oil as described under " Preparing for startup".
Please refer to the "Engine Operating Instructions" for
more information on the engine.

Cleaning

machine
application so that the faultless function is kept.
Clean all movable parts on a regular basis.
Clean the case with a soft brush or a dry cloth.
Do not clean the machine with running water or high-pressure
cleaners.
Do not use solvents (gasoline, alcohol, etc.) for plastic parts,
otherwise such parts may be damaged.
Keep the handles free of oil and grease.
Water, solvents and polishing agents shall not be
applied.
Keep also the cooling fins for the cylinder (e) free from
dust and dirt.

Transport

Before each transport
− Switch off device.
− Wait until the cutting device does not longer
move.
Turn the transport wheels downwards and bring the hoeing
spur to its transport position.
When transporting the product within a car put it in the boot
or on a separate loading area. Sichern Sie dabei das Gerät
gegen Umkippen, Beschädigungen und Auslaufen von
Kraftstoff.

Storage

Keep unused machines in a dry and closed area out of the
reach of children. Do not store them close to a cooker, oven
or hot-water apparatus with permanent flame or other spark-
generating devices.
Allow the engine to cool down before storing the machine.
