Initial operation

After you have correctly connected up your DVD-/video recorder, switch the television set on. Depending
on the connection type, select the video (AV) or other receiving channel.
Switch the DVD/-video recorder on.
The first step is the appearance of a welcome screen for the Installation Assistant, which undertakes the
most important settings for the device.
 Press ENTER to start installation.

Set menu language and country

The window for setting the setup language will appear. Your country's
language is set by default.
 Using the up and down arrow keys  , select the desired language
and confirm with ENTER, to continue to the next step.
This window ceases to appear after initial start-up. If you would like to
change the setup and channel settings at a later stage, you must reset the
device to the factory settings (see page 36).
You can change the screen language later from S E T U P > L a n g u a g e >
M e n u L a n g u a g e .
Selecting the country
The third step is to select the country setting. The country setting affects
the scan for the TV signal.
 Using the navigation buttons select your country and confirm by
pressing ENTER.

Channel search

At the forth and fifth step, the device starts an automatic channel scan.
The number of channels already found appears on the screen.
 Wait until the channel scan is complete. This takes a few minutes. After
the search, within the list of channels it is possible to move, delete or
assign another name to channels found. These functions are described
in detail on page 32.
 Confirm the search by pressing ENTER.
If you use a SAT or a DVB-T receiver box to receive TV channels, no channels are found. You can
cancel the search by pressing ENTER during the search. You may also skip Step 5 by pressing
ENTER again.
You can subsequently repeat the channel scan from S E T U P > I n s t a l l a t i o n .
