Setting index screen
You may set an index screen for each recording. It is displayed as a preview screen in the Recording
Overview, to make it easier to recognise the particular recording.
 Select Index Screen and confirm by pressing ENTER.
 Three screens appear. The large screen at the top displays the current recording, the one on the lower
left displays the current index screen and the screen on the right shows the new index screen to be
created.
 You work in the top screen. With the PLAY/PAUSE playback buttons and  or  , you can play back,
pause or fast forward and fast rewind the recording.
 If the recording has reached the part intended for setting the index screen, select Set Index Screen with
the arrow keys and press ENTER. The index screen set appears in the screen on the lower right.
 To save the process, choose OK and press ENTER. The recording is now saved.

The Video Recorder

Insert cassette

Insert the video cassette with the tape side towards the front (usually marked with an arrow) into the
cassette slot. The cassette will be automatically pulled into the correct position.
To eject the cassette, press EJECT on the device or OPEN/CLOSE on the remote control.

VCR mode

The default mode for the device is DVD mode. Press the VCR button on the remote control to switch to VCR
mode. VCR MODE will appear in the display.

Play

 To play a cassette press PLAY/PAUSE.
 To interrupt playback, press PLAY/PAUSE. By pressing PLAY/PAUSE again, you continue the playback.
 Press STOP to stop playback.
If the picture quality is not satisfactory, try to adjust the video tape's tracking position, with the TRACKING
– / + buttons (additional information on page 27).
