Settings in the SETUP menu

All settings are made in the SETUP menu, which you can open using the SETUP key.
 You can select an entry by pressing the up  or down  arrow keys.
 Use the  and  arrow keys to change between the left, middle and right menus.
 To confirm a selection press ENTER.
All navigation options in the current menu are shown on the lower edge of the menu.
MENU takes you back to the previous step and with SETUP you can close the SETUP anywhere.
The Disk submenu can only be opened if there is a DVD±R or DVD±RW in the recorder.

Setup "Installation"

After ending the automatic search process you can subsequently change the programme
presets or adapt them to your TV.
Please bear in mind that all the channel searches available in the Installation menu are
executed via the integrated receiver and require an aerial to be connected. If you have a
SAT or DVB-T receiver connected, you are not able to use these functions but must execute the channel
search on the receiver.

Manual setting

In M a n u a l S e t t i n g you can search for a specific channel and use your own settings. This step is for
advanced users only.
 In the Standard menu item, select the television standard using the left or right arrow key  or  .
 Using Receive you can select whether the channel search should be via a roof aerial or via a cable
connection.
 Execute the channel search with A u t o S e a r c h . Press the left  or right  arrow key to start the search
forwards or backwards. After you have found the channel, the search is paused and displays the
television picture.
 If the reception has deteriorated, you can improve it manually by using the F i n e T u n e r . This is done by
the left  or right  arrow keys. Usually, however, the fine tuner is set automatically after a channel has
been found.
 If you have a decoder connected, with programmes encrypted to the E U R O A V 2 connection, switch
the Decoder function on with the left  or right  arrow key.
 If the desired channel has been found and set properly, you may save the channel. Select a programme
position in S a v e C h a n n . using the left  or right  arrow keys.
 You may also enter a channel name in Programme Name. Press  or  to start text entry mode.
Choose a letter, a number or a character with the arrow keys. Under page a, page A or Icon, you may
enable upper or lower case or select special characters.
If you would like to delete a character, choose Back; if you would like to delete the entire title, press the
CLEAR button on the remote control.
If text entry is complete, choose Save and confirm with ENTER.
 To terminate the manual channel search completely, press ENTER.

Automatic search

Choose this function to execute an automatic search. This searches all available frequencies.
The channels found are automatically saved in the DVD/video recorder's list of channels.
