Setup "Pre-settings"

Video
In Video you set the picture format and the video output options.
TV format
4 : 3 L B :
Select this setting to display a film in 16:9 format on a traditional TV with 4:3 format. The
image is shown with a black bar at the top and bottom edges.
4 : 3 P S :
Select this setting to display programmes in the normal 4:3 format on a 4:3 TV. 16:9 format
programmes are shown full-screen without disturbing bars but the edges of the image are cut off.
16:9:
Select this setting to output to a wide-screen TV in 16:9 format.
Video output
If you have connected a device to a digital output (e.g., HDMI), set the output resolution here. The
resolution must match the resolution supported by the connected device.
If an analogue device has been connected (e.g., via a Scart connection) set the option to RGB 576i.
Sound
In the Sound menu, set the digital sound outputs and the type of sound signal.
Digital output
Bitstream:
The DVD/video recorder outputs the raw data as DTS sound (default setting).
P C M : Select P C M if there is a connection to a digital amplifier/receiver. Your recorder will transmit the
same audio formats as are stored on the disc by means of a PCM signal. In addition, an audio signal will be
transmitted via the left/right outputs.
Dynamics
The Dolby digital sound format supports a dynamic setting which allows you to set the volume difference
between quiet and loud passages. Here you can choose from the Full, Medium and Off options.

Parental Control
