position.
Target
Using the up and down arrow keys . select the DVD or VCR (videocassette) target for recording and
then press the right arrow key , to move to the next field.
Set the recording date
Using the number keys, enter the desired date for your recording or change the entry using the up and
down arrow keys .
To move to the next field, press the right arrow key .
Set the start time for the recording
Using the number keys, enter the desired start time for your recording or change the entry using the up
and down arrow keys .
To move to the next field, press the right arrow key .
Set the stop time for the recording
Using the number keys, enter the desired finishing time for your recording or change the entry using the
up and down arrow keys .
To move to the next field, press the right arrow key .
Define recording source
In the P R N o . field, select a recording source with the up or down arrow keys.
P R x : for recording the television programme, provided there is an aerial connection. Select the
channel from which you wish to record (P R 1 , P R 2 , P R 3 etc.);
A V 1 , A V 2 : for a device that is connected with the DVD/video recorder via the SCART IN socket;
F AV: for a device that is connected to the DVD/video recorder via the front AV connections (yellow,
white and red);
D V : For a device that is connected to the DVD recorder via the DV IN socket.
To move to the next field, press the right arrow key .
Set recording quality/mode
Using the up or down arrow keys, you can set the recording quality:
SP: standard quality, approx three hours recording time with an E-180 cassette
LP: extended play, approx six hours recording time with an E-180 cassette
To move to the next field, press the right arrow key .
Setting repeat recording
You can select a recording rhythm by pressing or . In this case the recorder does not record on a
specific date; instead it takes the time settings from the stated recording rhythm. The potential recording
settings are as follows: one time, daily, weekly, weekdays (Monday to Friday) and weekends (Saturday
and Sunday).
If you use a SAT or DVB-T receiver, you must select the channel on these devices (not on the DVD/video
recorder) and ensure that the receiver is switched on at the desired time. Please consult the receiver
operating instructions, as many receivers also have recording programming.
Close programming
When you have completed all the settings, press ENTER to confirm them. The settings are saved.
Switch the device to standby mode. The timer is enabled only when the device is switched off.
If a cassette has been inserted, a message appears on the screen. Insert a new cassette, if necessary.
