d) Friction clutch for the drive

You certainly wondered about the transparent cover at the back by the motor.
A particular characteristic of this car is located under the cover, namely the friction clutch. It allows,
with the corresponding adjustments, for a softer start up of the vehicle, in order to avoid the so-called
"Wheelies" or rollovers during full acceleration on smooth surfaces.
The correct calibration has already been carried out ex works. As a general rule, only
experienced drivers should modify the calibration in very small steps.
If the friction clutch is tightened too tightly, the tractive effort will be fully transmitted,
the friction clutch is functionless.
If the friction clutch is preset too "soft", this causes the friction clutch to wear very strongly.
In addition, acceleration is very bad and the vehicle does not move at all (spinning of
friction clutch).
Adjust the friction clutch to rotation maximum respectively.
Adjusting the friction clutch:
Remove the plastic cap (1) from the cover.
Turn the screw nut placed underneath it clockwise (to
the right) in order to set the friction clutch "harder" (less
slip).
Turn the screw nut counter-clockwise (to the left) in or-
der to set the friction clutch "softer" (more slip).
As mentioned above, adjust the friction clutch by a
rotation maximum respectively. Carry out a test run to
check if the adjustment corresponds to your expecta-
tions.
The factory adjustment can be effected as follows:
• Loosen the screw nut completely so that the end of the nut is even with the axle.
• Firmly screw the screw nut by turning it 4 full rotations.
