8. Charging drive rechargeable batteries for the vehicle

• The vehicle delivery package does not include any drive rechargeable batteries, they must be purchased separately.
So you can choose between cheap entry-level rechargeable batteries and high-performance professional
rechargeable batteries with high capacity for the vehicle.
• Drive rechargeable batteries are usually empty upon delivery and must be charged. Several complete charge and
discharge cycles are required for the drive rechargeable batteries to reach their maximum performance.
When it comes to LiPo rechargeable batteries, partially discharged rechargeable batteries can be recharged with
no trouble. A prior discharge is usually not required.
• High-quality drive batteries not only have a higher capacity, which allows you to drive your model vehicle much
longer, they also provide a higher output voltage under load. This gives the motor more power and results in better
acceleration and a higher speed.
• We recommend that you purchase a high-quality charger. They are normally also suitable for charging rechargeable
batteries quickly. To use a LiPo drive rechargeable battery for the vehicle, the charger must be equipped with a
balancer.
• The vehicle battery heats up when charging/discharging (i.e. when driving the vehicle). Wait until the rechargeable
battery has reached room temperature before charging it. The same applies after the rechargeable battery has
finished charging. Allow it to cool down before connecting it to the vehicle.
• Only use a charger that is designed for the type of rechargeable battery used (e.g. LiPo).
• To charge the drive rechargeable batteries, remove them from the vehicle and then disconnect completely from
the speed controller.
