US models for 208 V
Unlike the european version which uses phases L and N for supply, the "US 208 V" models (see model name ad-
dition on the type plate) make use of L-L voltage of the standard 120 V three-phase supply. The included mains
plug is 4-pole, means three phases plus ground (PE). German or european AIUs (automatic supervision units) are
not suitable for use with 208 V L-L supply. Following phases are required for the AC supply:

The PE conductor are imperative and must always be wired!
For the dimensioning of the cable cross section the power of the device and the cable length are decisive. The
maximum output current of the energy recovery feature per phase is calculated by the formula I
* Efficiency / 208 V. The units have 1 to 3 power stages inside. The maximum output current of per phase is ~16
A. Some models share current on a single phase, thus it increase to 16 A * 1.73 = 28 A.
Recommended minimum AWG values for up to 5 m (15 ft) of cable length and connection of a single unit:

3100 W models: the table shows that the 3100 W models don't require three phases and don't use all inputs of the
AC plug. Here it is important to used the correct ones. When assigning the phases of a three supply to the AC plug
inputs it doesn't matter which pair of phased you select. Only make sure the voltage and cross section are correct.
