8.2.1

Connecting SIMATRIX to Term.x socket

As standard, the control unit interface of the CKA4820 is set as a TTY interface COM1B for control of
the SIMATRIX 164/648/SYS/NEO.

Required accessories

Control line: 4-core cable; max. permissible length approx. 1.2 km with 0.8 mm
conductor diameter.
9-pin Sub-D plug with housing.
9-pin Sub-D socket with housing.
1. Connect the SIMATRIX via the terminal socket Term.x to COM1B on the
control unit.
With a cable length above 70 m or if more than two control units are connected, the power supply
must be provided by a separate power supply unit on the control unit.
2. Connect the control unit to the power supply unit. See Section 7.3.1: 12 V DC
connection.

With the SIMATRIX 164/648 the internal power supply for the control unit is
possible via Term.1, and with the SIMATRIX SYS via Term.1 to Term.4. Up to 8
control units can be connected to SIMATRIX NEO.
