STORING THE MACHINE WHEN NOT IN USE FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME
If you do not use the machine for more than one month, carry out the following steps to prevent
damage and malfunctions:
•
Disconnect the battery cables and follow the instructions in the engine manual.
•
Close the fuel shut-off valve.
•
Carefully remove the hose clamp with pliers, disconnect the fuel hose and empty the tank
completely into an approved container.
•
Open the fuel tap, start the engine and let it run until it runs out on its own - this way the fuel
is completely consumed from the lines and carburetor.
•
Then reconnect the fuel hose and secure it with the hose clamp.
•
Store the machine in a dry, protected place and ideally cover it with a breathable cloth.
IMPORTANT:
•
Store the battery in a cool, dry place.
•
Fully charge the battery before storing it and again before putting the machine back into
operation.
Note:
Before recommissioning, carefully check that no fuel is leaking from the lines, fuel tap or carburetor.
USE ON SLOPES
When working on slopes, the permissible inclination limits must be observed:
•
Longitudinal slope: max. 15°
•
Cross slope: max. 10°
WARNING:
•
Be particularly careful when starting off on sloping terrain - risk of tipping!
•
Reduce your speed before driving uphill, especially downhill.
DANGER!
•
Never shift into reverse gear to regulate the speed when driving downhill.
→ This can lead to loss of control on slippery surfaces.
•
Never drive down a slope in neutral or with the gearbox disengaged.
→ Always select a low gear, especially before parking or leaving the machine unattended.
IMPORTANT:
On machines with hydrostatic transmission, use the natural braking effect when driving downhill by
simply taking your foot off the accelerator pedal - even if the transmission is not engaged.
TRANSPORTATION OF THE MACHINE
WARNING:
If the machine is transported on a truck or trailer:
•
Only use suitable lifting equipment.
•
Ensure that sufficient trained personnel are available who can cope with the weight and type
of lifting system.
•
Never use ropes or pulleys to lift the machine!
