b) Power adapter/power supply/charger
• The power adapter is manufactured according to Protection Class II. Only connect the power adapter to
a standard mains socket connected to the public grid.
• The mains socket must be easily accessible.
• Do not unplug the power adapter by pulling on the cable. Grip the sides of the plug, and then remove
the plug from the socket.
• Do not touch the power adapter if there are any signs of damage, as this may cause a fatal electric
shock!
Switch off the mains voltage to the socket containing the power adapter (switch off at the correspond-
ing circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse, and then switch off at the corresponding RCD protective
switch).
You can then unplug the power adapter from the mains socket. Dispose of the faulty power adapter in an
environmentally friendly manner and discontinue use. Replace it with an identical model.
• Only connect the charger to the power adapter provided. Do not use the power adapter for other pur-
poses. The charger and power adapter must only be used together.
• The power adapter and charger must only be used in dry, enclosed indoor areas. They must not become
damp or wet. Avoid direct sunlight, intense heat and cold temperatures. Keep the power adapter and
charger away from dust and dirt. Do not place any objects that contain liquid (e.g. vases or plants) on or
next to the power adapter or charger.
If liquids drip onto or inside the power adapter/charger, this may destroy the power adapter/charger and
cause a fire or a fatal electric shock.
• The charger must only be used to charge the vehicle battery provided (or an identical replacement bat-
tery). Never charge other types of batteries or non-rechargeable batteries, as this may cause a fire or
explosion!
• Do not place the charger on flammable materials (e.g. a carpet or tablecloth). Always use a non-flam-
mable, heatproof surface. Never cover the charger or the power adapter! Keep the charger away from
flammable or combustible materials (e.g. curtains).
• Always use suitable protection when placing the charger on valuable furniture, otherwise it may cause
scratch/pressure marks or discolour the furniture.
• Do not use the charger/power adapter inside vehicles.
• Keep the charger/power adapter/rechargeable battery out of the reach of children. Children may ac-
cidentally short-circuit the rechargeable battery, which can cause a fire or explosion. Fatal hazard!
• Do not use the charger in the immediate vicinity of strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields, transmitter
aerials or HF generators. These can affect the charger's electronic control system.
• Never recharge the vehicle battery when the charger is unattended.
• Only charge one battery with the charger.
• Before charging the battery, remove it from the vehicle.
• Before connecting the battery to the charger and starting the charging cycle, the battery must be fully
disconnected from the vehicle/speed controller. Failure to do so may damage the charger/vehicle/speed
controller, which will void the warranty/guarantee!
