3.2 Commissioning
Setting the time and date before use
When switching on for the first time or after a longer
power failure, the setting of the clock is reset
(display 12:00 and
and must be set to be able
to use the appliance without any restrictions.
To do this, proceed as described in the relevant
section in "operation and setting".
Odour and vapour formation during initial operation
When using the appliance for the first time,
insulating materials and heating elements may cause
a particular smell and there may also be slight vapour.
This is normal and harmless; however, do not heat any
food in the cooking chamber yet in this case.
Proceed as described below.
• Only put the appliance into operation if it is in perfect
condition and has been properly installed by a suitably
qualified electrician.
• Before using the oven to prepare food, first heat it empty
for approx. 30 minutes with the settings Top/bottom heat
and 200°C (for operation and settings, see relevant
sections).
• Keep the room well ventilated during this process until any
odours or smoke that may appear have disappeared.
• Wipe out the cooking chamber with a damp cloth
and dry it well.
• You can then use the cooking chamber to heat food.
To do this, follow the instructions in the relevant sections.
