Removing Measurement Cell

Especially for routine checks of the instruments you may use the KNAUER
OQ-documents (available from your local dealer). An automated OQ-check
is available with KNAUER ChromGate
If light intensity falls below the preset limit the display shows the most
recent intensity value (%). In case the detector is in on line mode (menu
I + I ) the light intensity can not directly influence the measurement

value. However the noise increases as the light intensity decreases.
Low light intensity might be caused by:
Cause
IR absorption of the eluent
Bubbles in the measuring cell
Dirty measuring cell
Leaking cell
Removing the measurement cell is required for cleaning or for exchange.
Removing and reinstalling the cell should be done by authorized service
personnel only, although it can be performed by experienced users.
Remove the power plug at the rear side of the detector before
opening the housing! Inside the instrument electrical connections
are located carrying high voltage which may damage your health.
Removing the Measurement Cell of RI Detector 2300
1. Unplug the power supply cable.
2. Empty the measurement cell of all liquid according to SOP 7.
3. Loosen the six housing screws on the side panels of the housing.
4. Take off the housing pulling upwards.
5. Locate the measurement cell inside the housing. The measurement
cell is installed on the optical bench from above and is fastened as
shown in Fig. 18 and Fig. 20 by means of a cap.

Clean or replace the measuring cell
Remove the measuring cell, make sure
that no liquid is left inside the detector,
reinstallt he cell and new seals
