The RS-232 serial interface on the rear side of the device enables digital
data transfer between the RI Detector 2300/2400 and a PC equipped with
HPLC software (EuroChrom
interface directly or if necessary via an interface multiplier to a COM Port
of your computer. In addition, the start contact (trigger) of a manual
injection valve or an autosampler may be connected to START and
GROUND of the remote control socket.
RS-232 Interface and Remote Control Socket
To control the Smartline RI Detector 2300/2400 with a non-KNAUER
software via RS-232, the interface protocol is available from KNAUER
upon request.
The remote control socket, which serves to send or receive signals from
other instruments, is located on the rear panel of the Smartline RI
Detector 2300/2400. For example start signals from an injection valve or
an autosampler can be put to the START input. All voltages have to be
mounted between GROUND and the corresponding intput or output.
Please avoid touching the electrical contacts of the socket lines.
Electrostatic discharges when touching the contacts could damage
the electronics of the device.
Two of the eight positions on the remote control socket are ground
connections, one is for ERROR OUT and three serve as control
connections:
