Simple Maintenance
Fig. 20

SOP 6

3. Put the upper seals over the capillaries' ends in the cell cover, taking
the bevels into consideration. Insert the cover, having the flat side
directed toward the instrument's front.
4. Put in the lock washers and screw the cap nut into the optical bench.
Screw tight the cap nut by hand.
Tightening the cap nut too weakly can result in leakage of the
measurement cell. Tightening the cap nut too tightly can lead to a
direct contact of the capillaries to the cell, resulting in damage to
the cell.

5. Put the housing back on the instrument, and tighten the six screws.
Installing the Measurement Cell of RI Detector 2400
1. Put the lower seals over the capillaries' ends in the cell ground,
taking the bevels into consideration.
2. Insert the measurement cell, considering it's position (see ) into the
housing. The KNAUER writing of the preparative cell has to be
situated on the bottom side.
3. Put the upper seals over the capillaries' ends in the cell cover,
considering the bevels. Insert the cover, having the flat side directed
toward the instrument's front.
4. Put in the springs, washers and the four screws, and screw them
into the optical bench.
5. Screw the four recessed head screws tightly.
Tightening the screws too weakly can result in leakage of the
measurement cell. Tightening the screws too tightly can lead to a
direct contact of the capillaries to the cell, resulting in damage to
the cell.
6. Put the housing back on the instrument, and tighten the six screws.
