With coarse the values are doubled or divided by 2, with fine you can
change the digits in steps of 4 at the third decimal position.
All KNAUER detectors are adjusted in-factory to a standardized
sensitivity by comparing measurements with calibrating solutions at
T=20° C. The selection of another value for calibration applies to all
measurement outputs, and erases/overwrites the previous entry.
Changing the calibration constant c does not affect the signal-to
noise ratio !
By selecting this factor you can achieve any calibration for the RI
detector. Thus, an absolute calibration by means of a solution with known
concentration at a certain temperature can also be performed.
FLUSH
♦
time: 030 s
In this menu you can define the period of time for flushing the reference
cell. The available range is 1...900 s. Place the cursor on the time field
using the ► or ◄ key and select the desired time with the ▲ or key. By
pressing the ▼ key you can reach the function no valve beyond the
value 0, which is used to deactivate the valve circuit.
Flushing periods of 10...20 s are recommended for flow rates of approx.
1 ml/min. With lower flow rates the use of longer flushing periods is
advisable.
While flushing the reference cell the flow rate should not exceed
3 ml/min for the Smartline 2300 or 5 ml/min for the Smartline 2400.
Otherwise the flush solenoid valve and/or the reference cell may be
destroyed.
ANALOG OUT
♦
full scale: 1e-3 RIU
The ANALOG OUT menu is used to set the scaling factor of the analog
output signals. The maximum output signal is always 1 V. Generally the
maximum output signal is 1 V. In accordance with your current conditions
you can determine how many RIU correspond to this maximum signal or
full scale deflection. The values of 1e-5, 2e-5, 5e-5, 1e-4, 2e-4, 5e-4, 1e-
3, 2e-3, 5e-3, 1e-2, 2e-2, 5e-2, 1e-1, 2e-1, 5e-1 or 1e-0 RIU
(corresponding to 0.00001, 0.00002, 0.00005, 0.0001, 0.0002, 0.0005,
0.001, 0.002, 0.005, 0.01, 0.02, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5 or 1 RIU respectively)
are selectable.
