Note: Do not choose a device size which exceeds the measurement, i.e.,
do not round up.
Caution: A too small/tight device may result in pistoning, numbness or
blistering, or produce excessive ring tension to the residual limb from the
seal.
Caution: A too large/loose device may result in increased perspiration
and movement of the limb inside the device, which may lead to blisters
and rashes.
If any of the above symptoms, or any other indications of improper fit are
experienced, the patient should contact the healthcare professional
immediately.
Note: For a transtibial liner, make sure that the liner matrix covers at least
4 cm of bony structure. Do not allow the matrix to extend higher than the
fibula head.
Warning: The device shall not be used by patients with an extremely short
residual limb (refer to the Table below).

Residual limb length is measured as follows:
• Transtibial: From mid-patella tendon to distal end.
• Transfemoral: From perineum to distal end, with the tissue hanging
down.
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
Caution: The device must be thoroughly inspected for defects before fitting.
Trimming Instructions
The device may be trimmed to increase range of motion, or for patient
preference (Fig. 2). The Iceross Curvemaster is a recommended tool,
specifically designed to produce a smooth, rounded edge when
trimming.
Caution: Do not cut the device below the level of the matrix, through the
seal(s), or below the proximal trim-lines of the socket. Excessive
trimming may reduce the suction between the device and limb, and
compromise suspension.
Socket Construction Guidelines
Recommended socket materials to ensure long-term seal function:
• All PETG materials
• Laminated sockets
• Thermoplastic inner socket materials with a smooth surface
• EVA inner socket materials
The inner surface of the socket must be airtight and as smooth as
possible, irrespective of the socket material.
To achieve the smoothest surface possible on the plaster positive model,
it is recommended to use fine abrasive for final smoothing, followed by
silicone spray.
