2.2 Commissioning

Odour and smoke formation during initial operation
When using the appliance for the first time,
insulating materials and heating elements may cause
a particular smell and there may also be slight smoke.
This is normal and harmless; however, do not heat any
food in the cooking chamber yet in this case.
Proceed as described below.
• Before using the oven to prepare food, first heat it for ap-
prox. 30 minutes empty with the settings convection mode
and maximum temperature, as described in the corre-
sponding chapter.
• Keep the room well ventilated during this process until any
odours or smoke that may appear have disappeared.
• Wipe out the inside of the oven with a damp, soapy, soft
cloth and dry everything with a soft cloth.
• You can then use the cooking chamber to heat food.
Setting the time and date before use
To use the time setting for automatic cooking with-
out any problems, first set the current time and date
correctly as described in the relevant section in the
operation chapter.
