Parametrization via IO-Link can occur in different ways:
■
via On-request Data Objects (e. g., IO-Link-function block close to the
control),
■
via tool-based engineering via FDT/DTM (e. g., PACTware™ with the use of
DTM or the IODD)
BASIC TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Device parameters (On-request Data Objects)
Device parameters are exchanged in an acyclical manner and upon the request
of the IO-Link-Master. The IO-Link-Master always sends a request to the device
first, then the device responds. This is the case when the data is written into the
device and read from the device. With the help of the On-Request Data Objects
(ORDO), the parameters can be written into the device (Write) or the device sta-
tus can be read from the device (Read). A respective overview of the available
services can be found in the complimentary handbook "IO-Link-Parameter –
FM-IM / FMX-IM" (D101920).
3.4.3
Software-supported HART®-Parametrization
If the device is operated with HART®, Parametrization is possible both via push-
buttons or software without separate operating mode. Permanent transmission
of process data is also possible.
The digital HART®-communication occurs with the help of Frequency Shift
Keying (FSK), which is modulated onto the actual 4...20-mA current signal:
■
1200 Hz equals the logic 1 (High)
■
2200 Hz equals the logic 0 (Low)
With it process data and diagnostic data (Read) as well as Parametrization
commands (Write) are transmitted.
Parametrization with the help of HART® can occur via tool-based engineering
via FDT/DTM (e.g., PACTware™ with the use of the DTM).

Diagnostic functions
3.5.1
Error monitoring
The data processing devices FM(X)-IM are signaling defined errors via the LED
"Fault" and the relay or transistor output Out 3 (Fault). The relay output Out 3
is permanently set as opener or the transistor output Out 3 is permanently set
as "Active Low" and can not be parametrized. In the case of an error, the output
Out 3 is switched off and the relay deactivates.
