IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Factory settings
If the existing application parameters do not match the factory settings at first
start-up, error displays of overreach or underreach of the display range of the
flow rate may occur.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Operating range of flow monitoring
The operating range of the devices is independen from the applications the
connected sernsors are approved for. Their display range must therefore be
adjusted to the actual application range.
BASIC TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Functionality of calorimetric sensors
Calorimetric sensors indirectly measure flow rates by monitoring temperature
of the flowing medium.
For that purpose the temperature is measured on a heated and an unheated re-
sistor. When the medium is resting, the measured temperature difference is at
a maximum value. The difference decreases with increasing flow rate, because
heat is led away from the heated resistor. When the temperature difference
reaches the value 0 K, the maximum measurable flow rate has been reached.
With calorimetric sensors monitoring of the temperature of the medium occurs
via the unheated resistor, thus offering an additional feature of system monito-
ring, especially for cooling systems.
3.3.2
Temperature monitoring
The calorimetric active principle of the sensors supports temperature mo-
nitoring in close proximity. The devices display the actual temperature on a
LED-band; it is also indicated via a communication signal when connected to
a Master.
The temperature is displayed by pushing the "Set" button in the display mode.
The temperature is only displayed as long as the button is pushed down.
