2.3.3 - Responsibility of the refrigeration plant/system operator

The plant operator is the person who uses the plant and therefore the unit covered by this use and maintenance
manual. The operator is responsible for unit maintenance.

The staff involved in the various unit maintenance stages must be skilled and trained.
The levels of competence of personnel are specified in Standard EN 13313
The plant operator is obliged to only use trained and skilled staff, with the necessary personal protective
equipment, in the unit inspection, maintenance, repair, emergency and disposal stages.

Please note that design of the refrigeration plant/system is not up to the manufacturer of the unit
who is therefore relieved from any consequence and responsibility deriving from incorrect
design/installation.

Please note that the units are subject to technical modifications and/or updates by the
manufacturer and it is up to the plant operator to check the compatibility between the existing
plant/system and the new version of the unit.

2.4 - Laws and techniques used in the construction of the unit

The Standards used by the manufacturer in the construction of the unit can always be referred to in the unit EC
Declaration of Conformity.

2.5 - Importance of the series of Standards EN 378

Technical Standards EN 378 are a series of four technical Standards
(EN 378-1, EN 378-2, EN 378-3 and EN 378-4), which represent a fundamental guideline to the design,
installation, operation, maintenance and disposal of plants and relative refrigeration equipment.
The Standards of the series are oriented to provide a comprehensive overview of the safety aspects that must be taken
into account by design engineers, installers, plant operators and maintenance engineers.
Modine CIS Italy S.r.l.believes it is essential to use the series of Standards EN 378 in relation to the use of the unit
covered by this manual in a refrigeration plant/system for the safety of people, property and the environment.
Failure to comply with the requirements of the Standards can cause, mainly but not limited to:
- danger of spillage or release of coolant, resulting in fire or explosion and/or damage to the health of people,
property and the environment
- a risk of injuries in the various stages of installation, use, maintenance and disposal by people involved.

3 - Warranty

The warranty period lasts 24 months from the date of billing.

3.1 - Warranty Conditions

The warranty is void if the conditions described below are not observed:
1. The hydraulic connections must be installed up to standard in compliance with the practices and recognised
industry standards.
2. Load inert gas in the pipes during the welding operations.
3. Make sure that the system is completely free of leaks before filling it.
4. The wiring connections must meet the following requirements:
a. The values of the voltages must not exceed those shown on the data plate by ± 5%. Frequency 50-60 Hz.
b. The current absorption for unbalanced phase must not exceed 2%.
5. The wiring installed at the factory must not be changed without permission.
