2.7 Unauthorised Modification and Manufac-
ture of Spare Parts
Modifications or alterations of the machine are only permitted
after consultation with the manufacturer. Original spare parts
and accessories authorised by the manufacturer ensure safety.
The use of other parts can invalidate any liability of the
manufacturer for consequential damage.
2.8 Impermissible Modes of Operation
The warranty relating to the operating reliability and safety of
the pump/unit supplied is only valid if the machine is used in ac-
cordance with its designated use as described in chapter 4. The
limits stated in the data sheet must not be exceeded under any
circumstances.

Transport/Interim Storage

3.1 Transport
The ready-to-connect pump unit must be transported in hori-
zontal position. Please avoid impacts on the pump during trans-
port and make sure that it cannot drop down.
3.2 Interim Storage/Preservation
The pump should be stored in vertical position on an even, firm
surface in a dry, dark, frost-proof room not exposed to sunlight.
Secure it so that it cannot topple over or fall down.
Under these conditions it does not need additional preserva-
tion.

Description of the Product and Accessories

4.1 Technical Specification
Rotex pumps are vertical, single-stage centrifugal pumps with
the discharge nozzle at the top. The pump foot is designed to
serve as suction strainer. The pump and the motor are rigidly
connected by a support pipe. The pump units are ready to con-
nect and are equipped with an automatic level control system.
Caution
The pump cannot cope with the following media:
-- abrasive, corrosive, combustible or explosive media,
-- food,
-- waste water with coarse-grained solids and faeces.
4.1.1 Rotex 70
Rotex 70 is suitable for handling chemically neutral, slightly
contaminated waste water with a maximum temperature of
70 °C.
Caution
The pump is not suitable for handling condensate.
4.1.2 Rotex 10/20
See 4.1.1; the medium handled may have a maximum tempera-
ture of 90 °C.

4.3 Design Details
4.3.1 Drive
Rotex pump units are supplied with directly coupled three-
phase or single-phase a.c. motors.
The motor winding is in accordance with IEC 38-1. The electri-
cal data are given on the unit's name plate.

The motor bearings are grease-lubricated, maintenance-free

4.4.1 Rotex 70 - - Mounting Instructions for Cover
Plate
When using the cover plate for Rotex 70 (for 500 x 500 mm
pump sumps or pits) fix the angular frame in the sump head. In-
sert one half of the cover plate into the frame and bolt it down.
Place the pump with the intermediate pipe (712) in the cover
plate's central recess; the float switch connection cable must
point towards the small opening. Screw in the discharge pipe.
Insert the second cover plate half from above at an angle so that
the profiled seal element seals against the pump and discharge
pipe; press it into the angular frame and bolt it down.
